If The Weeknd and Michael Jackson had a baby, The end product of that would be no other than Jamell NYT. NYT is a singer, songwriter originally hailing from Burlington, Vermont but is notoriously known for his legendary performances all over the New York city subways. Back in 2017, he decided to risk it all by leaving his hometown of Burlington with nothing but his guitar and his dream of making it big with his music. Completely homeless, he was forced to sleep on trains and parks around the city as he perusued his musical aspirations. He’d soon find a strategy to escape poverty and further his career by establishing a name for himself by playing cover songs on his guitar anywhere the city would allow it.
Taking advantage of as many opportunities as he could, allowed him to later perform alongside Nicole Scherzinger and Ken Jeong on the Steve Harvey show for the 2019 ball drop in time square. NYT’s list of accomplishments doesn’t stop there, He has also performed alongside Ciara on Good Morning America and has worked with multi-platinum producers like Irv Gotti, Calvin Gaines, Kenny bartow, and Doe Pesci. Though Jamell is an independent artist, he does own his own label in NYT LLC and has recently teamed up with Lobby Boyz superstar “Maino” for his first major feature titled “Problem.” ‘Problem’ delivers an energetic, sexy blend of both heavy drill and R&B that is taking New York by storm. Though Ice Spice’s “Munch” is currently dominating the New York airwaves, DJs across the city have taken a liking to “Problems” and have kept the record circulating heavy on the club scene.
