From Kitchener, Canada, meet AFTERPARDI, the newest music sensation. He came from a village in Africa (Sudan) to Canada when he was 6 years old and his family started from nothing. Eventually, he fell to the streets and lived a life of crime to get money. He became a Highschool dropout and was soon incarcerated for robbery and found his passion for music.
When we asked AFTERPARDI how his music career started, he said, “It started as a hobby when I was young, but I never took it seriously until I got incarcerated. While locked up, I wrote over 100 tracks. I started performing to the inmates while still in jail, and built a following. Once I realized how the people in jail like my songs, I knew it was what I wanted to do.” AFTERPARDI made it out the streets with no handouts, he has done everything independently. He currently has over 1,000,000 streams on YouTube and Spotify with only 4 songs released.
Although AFTERPARDI is an independent artist, he frequently collaborates with his videographer, King Bee Productions, his engineer, Curtis “Sircut” Bye, and producers, OGR and Onlyzepfire. He is currently working on his More Cheddar music video – just released. His next release is called Hero and is expected to be released in mid august.
When we asked AFTERPARDI what he wanted his listeners to take away from his music, he said “to get inspiration when they are at their lowest point. To understand that we all go through it and to give them an escape from their reality. From the people in the trenches to the kids living in the suburbs, I want them all to learn from my story and believe they can achieve whatever dreams they want no matter where they’re at in life.”
If AFTERPARDI could collaborate with anyone in the music industry, he would like to work with Kodak Black, Hotboii, Don toliver, and Lil Baby. This is just the start for AFTERPARDI.
