Cliff Holt, the rising star in the hip hop scene, is breaking boundaries and pushing the limits of what we call hip hop. Born and raised in a small city outside of Raleigh, North Carolina, Cliff’s unique sound is grounded in musicianship, drawing influences from gospel, 70’s soul & r&b, jazz, and 90’s hip hop and southern rap/trap music. He is an artist who brings a refreshing new sound to the world of music.
Starting his career as an engineer/producer, Cliff gained notoriety as one of the main engineers in his hometown, which led him to pursue audio engineering more seriously. He completed a program at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Science and landed an internship with Chris Lord Alge, one of the world’s top mixing engineers. This opportunity allowed him to move to Los Angeles, where he honed his skills and ear as an engineer/producer, working at some of the top studios in LA, including Glenwood Place and EastWest Studios.
After his time in LA, Cliff Holt decided to focus on his own music company, the Kimloch Frequency, where he puts all his time and effort into producing up-and-coming artists and making music for films. His debut album, “Saturns Return,” is set to release in June and promises to change the perception of today’s hip hop, taking it to places it has never been before.
His album features musicians from his hometown as well as many other from over 10 different countries. Some names you’ll see include: Southside Mikey, Bobby James, and Posey La Fleur. His end goal is to help many amazing artists from his hometown reach a wider audience and to take on a more executive role.
